Cocktails #79 Pina Colada

from the 111 cocktails (you must try) challenge

Read about this challenge and see the list here

Ingredients: pineapple juice, light rum, coconut cream

Drank on: July 14, 2014

Location: Hotel Irotama Resort, Santa Marta, Colombia

Notes: at first the bartender mixed up the drink and gave it to me. I’m used to getting it blended, so I asked for him to do that by pointing to the blender (really need to work on learning Spanish). He got the message and blended it for me. yummy!

Cocktails #78 Pickleback

from the 111 cocktails (you must try) challenge

Read about this challenge and see the list here

Ingredients: Irish whiskey and pickle juice

Drank on: April 17, 2015

Location: Blue Cue in Sacramento, California

Notes: I had thought the way it was listed meant you had to combine whisky and the juice in one drink and I wasn’t too excited about trying it. A friend wanted to order a shot of whiskey and another friend mentioned getting the pickleback as the chaser. Light bulb! that makes so much more sense. (I took the photo of the chaser as that came out first and then the whiskey came after I put away the camera, oh well). I love pickle juice and this was actually a nice chaser for sure.

Cocktails #77 Peppermint Patty

from the 111 cocktails (you must try) challenge

Read about this challenge and see the list here

Ingredients: white creme de cacoa, white creme de menthe, dark creme de cacoa, cream

Drank on: December 16, 2014

Location: My House in Sacramento, California

Notes: I wasn’t finding white creme de cacoa so I looked up this recipe on other sites and they had it being made a little differently. One called for chocolate vodka (which I couldn’t find) and Chocolate liqueur (which I found with Godiva). and garnish with a peppermint patty.

This completely tasted like the chocolate treat.

A couple of other recipes made it with hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps. Which I recently had as a Mint Kiss. the schnapps was way to strong so I couldn’t really drink it.

Cocktails #69 Mudslide

from the 111 cocktails (you must try) challenge

Read about this challenge and see the list here

Ingredients: vodka, coffee liqueur, irish cream liqueur

Drank on: March 24, 2014

Location: My House in Sacramento, California

Notes: Got in the mood for a mudslide, but the bar didn’t make them. So, on the way home I stopped at the grocery store and got this pre-made 4 pack. Figured it’d be my dessert. Tasty for sure. definitely one of the drinks that’ll sneak up on you.
